Make Us Courageous

Last night, I and three friends in ministry attended a pre-screening of the upcoming movie, "Courageous" from the team that brought us "Flywheel," "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof." It was a powerful and inspiring film about a group of men who make a commitment to love and honour God with all of their hearts, minds and strength and to be godly fathers in accordance with His Word. They face a number of challenges and their trust in God is put to the test. To write any more would spoil it for you, but suffice it to say, it's a film which will stretch existing faith and plant a seed in those who may not know the Lord.

The film opens in theaters nationwide on September 30. Check your local listings for showtimes. The best thing I can tell you is that people need to go and see this film. In a country filled with stories of fatherlessness and abandonment, it is a time where men of courage need to step up and be responsible and live with honour and integrity. The source of our courage is God in Jesus Christ, who shows us the way and ignites our hearts to love and serve Him first and so care for our families next. If you are a Christian, or if you are not, take the time to check this movie out, and bring a friend, especially one who has seen brokenness in families. Get the ball rolling!
